Hanging Wall Decor Ideas (that don’t involve another framed piece of artwork!)
Have you got a blank wall in need of some décor but wanting something a bit different to the average framed photograph or canvas artwork? Breaking up some of your wall décor with different textures and shapes can be an easy and affordable way give more character and dimension to your room without making the room itself feeling cluttered.

Macrame Wall Hangings
I am seeing a resurgence of a boho interior design trends, particularly among gen z’s at the moment. With this comes a rise of boho art such as macrame wall hangings. These are often paired well with bold patterns, particularly if going for more of a boho theme. If going for more a coastal aesthetic, neutral coloured macramé wall hangings can easily pair well with cream furniture timber and rattan.

Hanging Plants
With the rise in house plants in the post pandemic world, hanging plants can not only be a hobby but a great way to incorporate different types of wall hangings into your home design. Most people will opt to hang plants from the celling which can be a good option however if you are looking to decorate a blank wall- you can opt for a wall pop plant holder. These can work with any type of plant however hanging plants can add more depth to the wall and do a better job at covering the hanging equipment 9if this is the aesthetic you are going for).
Hanging Dried Foliage
Perhaps a less popular wall hanging option you could consider is hanging dried foliage. These can be an especially good idea if you are wanting to bring an element of nature into the house without the hassle of managing a living plant!

Hallway Mirrors
Not only can mirrors be a form of artwork in your chosen room but they can also open up a small area making the room feel more luxurious and spacious. This can be particularly helpful in hallways if you have quite a narrow walkway and wanting to open up the area. You can opt for a full-length mirror, however if you are going to have it leaning against the floor be sure to bolt it to the wall! Or you can opt for a face height mirror set above a mantle or side table however be sure to hang it at a height that most people will be able to see from their chest up.
No matter your preference or budget, there are plenty of ways to decorate that empty wall. What wall hangings do you prefer?
